Joe and Col. Bacevich do not see eye-to-eye on the role oil played in Iraq. In his opinion, we are not fighting wars for the benefit of corporations. Iraq was a clear mistake. Gordon Lafer is Associate Professor at University of Oregon's Labor Education and Research Center. He has worked at all levels of academia and government on labor and economic issues. We are faced with a downward spiral of expectations that are letting Government and Corporations off the hook. You have to knock on a lot of doors to really build a Movement. Pick issues that will unite your group. The way to unite Occupy is to focus on strategic issues and rally around specific campaigns. Non-violence will help as a rule, because the fear of violence will depress membership. There is majority support for the diverse goals of Occupy.

Sue Sierralupe of the Occupy Eugene Medical Clinic. Bringing healthcare to the homeless population saves money and prevents disease in the non-homeless population. Hepatitus is growing along with the poverty rate, and is a bigger killer than aids. 100,000 people die every year because of lack of coverage. Joe describes his experience at the OEMC. OEMC will be announcing an expansion of their services over the next month.
